Remy LeBeau is a member of the X-Men.
History
Remy LeBeau is a mutant who was trained to be the leader of the Thieves Guild. Abandoned at birth due to his burning red eyes, the child who would one day become Remy LeBeau was kidnapped from his hospital ward by members of the New Orleans Thieves Guild who referred to the child as "le diable blanc" - the white devil. They believed he was the child that had been prophesied to unite the warring Guilds. Soon after, Remy was placed in the care of a gang of street thieves who raised the child and taught him the ways of thievery.
Divided Destiny
Members of the X-Men gathered after surviving an ordeal involving Bastion. During this gathering Cyclops brought up his thoughts on the future concerning mutantkind and the X-Men. His belief in rounding up evil mutants were instantly turned down by Professor X and Storm. Rogue tries to convince Gambit to join the rest of the team in their gathering but he is too reluctant after the events that happened with the Morlocks. Gambit sat outside on an oak tree when he was mysteriously joined by Marrow who had been firing bone shards at the tree he was sitting on. Remy although interested in Scott's new plan decided to stay with Professor X knowing he wouldn't be welcomed by Archangel and Psylocke.
Cat's Paw
Gambit comes across the Black Cat when searching for leads on the death of one of his friends. They would cross paths again eventually confronting Silvermane and Puma.
